VOLUNTEER

Join our life-saving mission. You can help by giving love and attention to the ALPHA dogs. Routine feeding and cleaning is done by employees, but you can take the dogs for a romp in our park. You can do some basic training or just help socialize the dogs.

Volunteers are needed to help with adoptions, both at the sanctuary and off-site at PetsMart or PETCO. Also, by early spring or before, we will have our adoption trailer on the road and will set up at various locations around the community. If you enjoy talking to people and love dogs, you'll enjoy adoptions.

You can transport ALPHA dogs to and from the veterinarian or groomer, deliver newsletters or run errands. Also, if a member of the community does not have a vehicle, but needs to take a dog or cat to the veterinarian, we will provide transportation at no charge.

We are in the process of renovating runs and houses at the sanctuary. We always need people to help. No special skills are needed.

If you have special abilities or interests and would like to help in a way not listed above, please let us know. For more information, leave a message at 661-391-8212.

FOSTER HOMES

The Sanctuary is quite often at its full capacity of 100 dogs. If you can keep a dog for a few days or weeks until space opens up at the sanctuary, you can save a life. Also some dogs have special needs, temporary or permanent. For example, one of our foster families cared for a little blind poodle, and eventually found a home for him. Now they are fostering a blind ShihTzu. Another of our foster parents keeps smaller dogs at her home until they are house trained. ALPHA can supply food and all medical care.
